There is no trace of James O’LEARY, father of Edward O’LEARY born in Carrick-on-Suir in 1841. Where did the family go after Edward’s birth?

James O’LEARY, father of Edward (1841-1915). The only clue I have about James is that at the time of Edward’s birth, circa 1841, the O’LEARY family lived in Carrick-on-Suir, an old river port town straddling two Irish counties, Tipperary and Waterford. Economic hardship had already hit the area before the potato famine struck and there is a strong possibility that the family left the town and headed to West Cork. I have no information on James’s wife, Edward’s mother, nor information on other children in the family. The only reason I know James is Edward’s father is that his name was recorded on Edward’s death certificate along with the information that Edward was born in Carrick-on-Suir. Edward died on 15 March 1916 in North Adelaide, Australia, aged 75 years.
